More young people are living with their parents in Britain due to low wages, uncertain employment, and unaffordable housing, turning family support into another source of inequality. According to an IFS analysis, this proportion has increased from 25% among 25-year-olds in the 1990s to 42% today. While homeownership has also declined dramatically, young people are increasingly forced to stay at home due to shrinking living conditions and opportunities.
According to the IWG research, 90% of respondents reported that independent work improved their work-life balance, while 80% felt that it made them more productive.
