Increasingly, support for the introduction of the euro in Hungary is evident, as reflected in the record-high approval ratings. Experts have pointed out that economic policy has not always focused on shock absorption, but rather on manipulating exchange rates. The Tisza government’s efforts to introduce the common European currency have achieved broad consensus. The Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) will discuss the issue in detail at a conference on September 9, from their perspective.

The currency is not right for us, and this feeling is increasingly shared among locals, as evidenced by the record-high level of support for the introduction of the euro in the region. As experts from Portfolio previously noted: the economy has often used the monetary policy space for shock generation rather than smoothing, which is why there is widespread consensus around the efforts of the Tisza government to introduce the common European currency. Where are we now on this path and what does this mean from the perspective of SMEs? The topic will be discussed in more detail at the “Hungarian Enterprises 2026” conference, which will be held on September 9th, among other key issues.
