Experts believe that closer infrastructure cooperation and a unified economic approach are necessary for the countries participating in the Three Seas Initiative. Beata Daszyńska-Muzyczka and Paweł Nierada emphasized that approximately 650 billion euros would be needed to develop the region’s infrastructure and reduce the gap with Western Europe. However, a lack of trust hinders progress. The interview was conducted at the BEST conference.

Beata Daszyńska-Muzyczka, the Three Seas Business Council’s chair and CEO, and Paweł Nierada, the organization’s founding partner, told Portfolio in an interview that the countries of the Three Seas Initiative should coordinate their infrastructure investments more closely and act as a single economic region. According to their calculations, at least 650 billion euros would be needed to close the region’s infrastructure gap with Western Europe, but there is still a lack of trust. The representatives of the organization spoke with Portfolio at the Budapest Energy and Security Talks (BEST) conference.
