Tisza government: will successively dismiss state officials, investigation launched due to the Tisza tax campaign
Events continued on Friday following the announcements on Thursday: István Kapitány, Minister of Economy and Energy, replaced Gergely Jákli, the CEO of Paks II Zrt., and his successor will be introduced later that day. In addition, there were changes in the leadership of three national museums. According to leaked information, the prosecution was already concerned about the prestige loss of the gold convoy case in May and has launched an investigation related to the consultation on the tax increase plan of the Tisza Party.
Following a flurry of announcements on Thursday, Friday also proved to be eventful: István Kapitány, Minister of Economics and Energy, dismissed Gergely Jákl, Chairman and CEO of Paks II Zrt., and his successor will be announced later in the day. He is not the only high-ranking government official to be dismissed: three prominent national museums, including the Director of the Museum of Natural History, have also been removed. Meanwhile, a leaked internal memo revealed that the prosecution had already been concerned in May about the potential for a major loss of prestige due to the gold convoy case. Péter Magyar’s personal security was taken over by the TEK, and Prime Minister Orbán sent a message to Balázs Horty, hinting that new developments would soon emerge. The prosecution has launched an investigation into the Tisza Party’s allegedly planned tax increases, based on a national consultation, which they had previously rejected.
