Tisza government: Paks' complete shutdown is only a matter of time, but the government will not restrict private consumption.
Due to the low water level in the Danube, the Paks nuclear power plant may have to shut down completely, which could take up to a month – Prime Minister Peter Magyar informed. The government has asked residents and large industrial consumers to reduce their energy consumption. The most critical period is now, although consumer consumption will not be restricted, companies can expect emergency measures.
Due to the critically low water level in the Danube, the Paks nuclear power plant is expected to shut down completely, which could take up to a month – this was informed to the public by Prime Minister Magyar Péter on Sunday evening. The government has asked the public and large industrial consumers to reduce their energy consumption voluntarily. On Sunday morning, Prime Minister Magyar Péter and the leaders of the parliamentary factions met at the Sándor Palace, after which the Prime Minister said that the next five days are the most critical, and while the government will not restrict consumer consumption, emergency measures could affect industrial consumption.
