In addition, demand for swimming pools has nearly doubled, reflecting the immediate need due to the heat, while concerns about water supplies are ignored.
The effects of the heatwave were immediately apparent in online searches: interest in mobile air conditioners quadrupled, while searches for air coolers and fans tripled. Searches for traditional air conditioners, cleaning products, and ceiling fans also increased at least twofold - according to a statement by Árukereső. Although authorities are struggling with water shortages in many parts of the country, demand for swimming pools also nearly doubled, indicating that immediate demand caused by the heat often overrides conscious water conservation.
