The chief state prosecutor may leave his position earlier than planned.

Gábor Bálint’s position as chief legal advisor may end on August 25, as he resigned in July. His mandate was for nine years, but it was cut short after just over a year. He justified his resignation by citing political attacks, emphasizing that he did not want the prosecution to become a battleground for daily political struggles.
