It's becoming increasingly difficult to get into the ranks of the wealthiest Hungarians, here's the latest list.
Despite geopolitical risks, falling oil prices, and a strengthening forint, private banking assets in Hungary increased in the first half of the year. According to a Portfolio survey, the total value of private accounts exceeded 136 billion forints by the end of June. OTP Private Banking continues to hold a leading position, while the assets of Concorde and Apelso increased the most. The average value of private accounts increased to nearly 220 million forints, but the sector lost approximately 300 accounts.

According to a recent survey by Portfolio, the assets held in Hungarian rich people’s accounts exceeded 136 billion forints by the end of June. OTP Private Banking still manages the largest assets, followed by Concorde and Apelso. The total assets in a single private bank account have now reached nearly 220 million forints. Meanwhile, the entire sector has lost about 300 private bank accounts, with limits increasing and some movement seen in the private banking sector.
