Erste is plans for the future, Vienna management comments on Hungary
Erste Group considers Central Europe to be its growth engine, highlighting the recent acquisition of a new subsidiary in Poland. Erste also expects strong growth in Hungary this year, particularly through increased lending. Future investments may be related to the region’s transition to renewable energy and technology. The bank’s management made commitments during its recent visit to Hungary and also expressed interest in acquiring MBH Bank.

The Erste Group views Central Europe as its growth engine, and while the recent acquisition of new subsidiaries was clearly dominated by Poland at the Vienna press conference, the bank group could play a key role in its stronger-than-expected growth and positive outlook, with the Hungarian market also playing a significant part. We asked the Erste management about the commitments they made during their recent visit to Hungary, and also about their interest in acquiring MBH Bank.
