Change is unavoidable: the most serious hospital errors in Hungary will be examined in a new system.
Health Minister Zsolt Hegedűs proposes the creation of a national healthcare safety system based on the lessons learned from the incident at the Pécs emergency clinic. The minister emphasized that patient and family feedback should be treated as an important warning sign. He also proposed extending the surveillance of hospital areas with high safety risks to prevent abuse.

The Minister of Health is proposing the creation of a national healthcare security system based on the lessons learned from the case of a patient being mistreated at the emergency clinic in Pécs. The Minister emphasized that feedback from patients and their families should be treated as a key risk indicator, and that extending video surveillance in areas with high security risks in hospitals is also justified in order to prevent abuse. Hegedűs Zsolt, the Minister of Health, announced these proposals in a Facebook post.
